BACKGROUND

These pictures all link to the things that brought me here and what the Ironman involves.

WHAT IS THIS ABOUT?

On 7 December I'm planning to complete the Busselton Ironman. That's a 3.8 km swim, followed by 180 km ride, followed by a 42 km marathon.

There are more details in the links below (click on the pictures) but essentially I want to alleviate the guilt of spending so long training for this by raising funds for these charities, and I'm hoping you'll support me by donating to either one of them.

Cancer has affected some people who are hugely important to me this year. I've felt rather powerless about it and I've found myself wishing I could do more to help them. So, in my simple-minded way, I figure if I can impress you enough to make a donation, together we will be doing something to help.

FIGHTING CANCER

This is a charity I'm really thrilled with. It directs money to systems which are going to provide clean water in developing communities. This drammatically improves the lives of people in these communities and significantly lowers infant mortality. Infants shouldn't die.
